Japanese Erasers
There’s no doubt that Japan knows how to make things bright and adorable. Erasers are definitely not an exception. They come in all kinds of shapes, colors, and scents. There are erasers made to look like just about anything. A look on the internet will show you that you can find pretty much any Japanese eraser you could possibly want. Seeing them in a store brings to mind a walk in through Tokyo.
Japanese erasers are recyclable, non-toxic, and colored by dye. They were even put on the ASTRA (American Specialty Toy Retailing Association) Best Toys For Kids list in 2009. You can find them in Japanese specialty stores or on lots of different places on the internet. Iwako, TRC Zenisinsyoji, Lemon, and Dream are some of the Japanese manufacturers. Some people collect them because they’re so fun to look at or use as toys and some of them even come as puzzles that can be taken apart.
One great thing about them is that they’re so cheap. With how expensive toys and electronics are getting nowadays, Japanese erasers are a fun and inexpensive toy that are a lot of fun. They’re also great gifts! Considering you can afford to give them to pretty much anyone, you’ll get to see some funny reactions from people who wouldn’t have expected to get a hamburger eraser as a gift.
Erasers also create a fun community of collectors to be a part of. There are all different things to talk about with a fellow collector – newly released erasers, the newest addition to your collection, or your favorite type of eraser. The cuteness and simplicity are enough to put a smile on almost anyone’s face.
Just like with so many other cute collectibles from Japan, they are just but addicting. Considering there are erasers in the shape of some very popular characters, like Hello Kitty, some people get hooked as an extension to their other collecting habits. They’re just too fun to pass up!
