Hey, i noticed that he said that one of the benefits of analog tape over digital is that it preserves the higher harmonics. But i would say that the exact opposite is true! In fact, tape rolls off all that high shizzle, hence the warm sound which focuses more on the mid-range – strange that he doesn’t know that!
a friend of mine just sent me this link – makes me want to get a reel-to-reel recorder, a Hammond Organ, and put aside all the digital gizmos that all but took analog’s place
We are happy to se that Daptone studios uses TUBE-TECH LCA2B and SMC2B for their productions. Thank you from your analog friends from Lydkraft, Denmark.

By the time a tape recording gets to cd, the harmonics are chopped off the top too.
