Do You Know How To Take Good Care of Your Dog?

Article by Brian Milne

Your dog is your best friend, is loyal and your companion so he/she deserves to be cared for so that he/she lives a long and healthy life. Your dog needs more than food, water and exercise. Your dog needs proper shelter, regular vet care, proper exercise and companionship. Here are some excellent dog care tips that you can print out and keep handy as a reference for your home.

Your dog care needs:

The dog in your life needs to have a collar and ID tag with current information on it so that if lost he/she can be returned to you. Your dog can be identified as your dog if the occasion arises that you need to prove that he/she belongs to you. Keep current pictures of your dog along with vet papers from visits to also prove the dog is your dog.

Make sure that you know and follow all local dog licensing and vaccinating rules for where you live. These local rules can be found by contacting the local animal shelter or humane society. You can also find out where to obtain ID tags and license tags for your dog as well as a list of local vets that can give your dog medical care and vaccinations.

Always make sure that when your dog is off your property that the dog is on a leash. This is for the protection of your dog and for the protection of those who meet your dog. A leash allows you the best opportunity for controlling your dog in situations that may arise when you are off your property.

Your dog needs proper shelter whether a inside dog or an outside dog. Dogs should never be left outside for extended periods of time without human supervision. Dogs crave and need to have human interaction. They should spend most of the time with the humans in the family and not alone outside.

Your dog needs to have regular vet care. Ask your local dog shelter, humane society, neighbor or friend for vet recommendations.

A dog that has been spayed or neutered is healthier and has fewer behavior problems (biting, running away). Spaying and neutering also reduces pet overpopulation, which is a problem in most communities.

Your dog needs to have daily fresh food and fresh water. Your vet can advise you on the proper nutrition for your dog’s age and breed.

A dog and you can benefit from dog training classes in your community. Make sure that they are positive training classes. Dog-training classes not only help you to have a better-behaved dog, but aides in bonding with a new dog or puppy.

Dogs need daily exercise and some breeds need specific exercise amounts to keep them healthy.

Understanding what you dog needs in the way of physical and emotional support will not only help the dog but will foster a closer bond between you and your beloved dog.

When you take the time to understand what care your dog needs, you are doing all you can to help your dog live a long and healthy life. Your dog will not only be a better dog when it receives the quality care it needs and deserves but it will have the ability to be a better dog companion for many more years to you and to your other family members.

Brian loves life and this shows in his writing about many varied topics the others do not like to tackle. From understanding meseothelioma or to playing guitars, driving cars and even discussions about how he buys full house water filters and installs them.

Natural Remedies: Cat Care The Homeopathic Way

Article by Susan Livingstone

Maybe you’ve discovered for yourself the benefits of natural remedies. Cat healthcare experts are beginning to promote the same thinking when it comes to caring for your feline, as well. If you have a cat, then you will benefit from learning about natural cat care, natural cat supplies, and the utilization of homeopathic care for cats.Nothing beats Mother Nature when it comes to providing the best quality cures and preventatives for whatever ails us – and the same is true of our feline friends. We’ve been led to believe for decades that the foods and products that are best for our cats can only be had by shopping at chain pet stores and supermarkets – that the manufacturers of these cat foods and other related products are the only ones who understand what is good for the health of our pets. They’ve done such a good job of convincing us, that even some vets out there are toeing the party line, and really have no good idea about what our choices are when it comes to the standard of quality in cat products.Fortunately, more and more cat healthcare professionals are re-discovering the benefits of all natural cures and products, and are recognizing the superior value of herbal treatments to promote feline wellness. Current research is proving that natural remedies for cats aren’t merely better than the traditional, and harsh, medicine we’ve been forced to rely on ’til now, they’re proving to be far safer than traditional healing techniques as well.

Take cat food for an example:The vast majority of the preferred commercial cat care products include chemicals and other artificial ingredients that might actually be dangerous to the ongoing health of your cat. Check the labels – does your cat food include corn or corn by-products in it? Fillers like this sound perfectly alright to the uninformed, but the fact is that a cat’s digestive system cannot process all the same foods that humans, or even dogs, can. Using such products might make life easier (and more lucrative) for the cat food manufacturers, but they are shortening your cat’s life span. Basically, many conventional products are creating more problems for your kitty than they solve. You may remember the pet food recall which happened a few years back. That was a real eye-opener for many pet owners, and drove home the point that we can’t necessarily rely on pet food manufacturers to consider the health of our cats over their bottom line.Your cat is a beloved member of your family, and deserves no less than the best in medical care. And when it comes to your cats, natural remedies are the wisest choice, just as it is for yourself. The smartest thing about using natural, homeopathic remedies for cats is the fact that they work in tandem with your cat’s innate healing processes, unlike some commercial products that actually block the animal’s natural healing abilities. Just as it is when it comes to food, natural products are also best when it comes to curing common cat ailments.Cost is a factor in the hesitation of some cat owners to use natural remedies for their cats. While it’s sometimes the case that natural cat supplies cost a bit more than standard ones, the difference in cost reflects the fact that natural products use only the best ingredients. If you truly love your cat, you won’t mind the additional cost that premium products may incur any more than you would hesitate to purchase the best quality food and healthcare for yourself or your family. When it comes to looking after your cat’s health, natural remedies for cats truly are the best. If you have trouble finding them in your local stores, there are many excellent holistic pet stores on the web that carry a huge and varied inventory of homeopathic items for cats as well as organic cat foods and other natural cat supplies.

Susan Livingstone built The Cat Bladder Blog because she loves cats, which is just as well since she is basically a slave to their whims. After years of spending money on them, she is now reversing that trend by offering holistic health products, information, advice and help to cat owners everywhere, especially those who need resources for dealing with cat urinary tract infections.

How to care a pet mouse

Taking care of a mouse seems like hard work, but it really isn’t. A lot of caring for mice is common sense. The rest of it is really just caring about your mouse enough to ensure it is safe, comfortable and healthy. Keep in mind that your mouse should live no less than 11 1/2 years when cared for properly. They can even live longer.

Instructions

1

Nutrition

1

Feed your mouse food that enables it to receive all of its nutrients. This includes “pet block” and mouse and rat mix.

2

Add supplements if your mouse is not getting enough vitamins and minerals. There are salt and mineral blocks and vitamin supplements that you can add to their water.

3

Give additional foods only as treats. Otherwise, your mouse may get too much of one vitamin and not enough of others.

4

Take your mouse to the vet if it is not eating properly for more than 1 or 2 days.

Things You’ll Need:
CageFoodBeddingTreatsToysVeterinarian experienced with mice and willing to treat them regularly

2

Environment

1

Keep your mouse away from drafts, heat and direct sunlight. If it gets too hot or cold, it cannot get away from it.

2

Use bedding to cover the floor of the cage. This makes it more comfortable for the mouse and soaks up urine. This should be changed once a week or when it gets dirty, whichever happens first.

3

Keep your mouse’s cage clean, with plenty of food and water.

4

Be sure to change the food out if it gets wet to avoid mold.

5

Install an exercise wheel for your mouse. They need to exercise, and this is the most enjoyable way for them to do so.

6

Allow your mouse to chew on wood gnaws. This helps them to keep their teeth short.

Tips & Warnings

Unscented and undyed paper towels, napkins and toilet paper can be substituted for bedding.

Do not buy any bedding made of fluffy cotton wool since it can harm the mouse if they eat it.

Do not use straw as bedding since the sharp edges can also harm the mouse.

Do not use bedding with fine sawdust, which can cause eye irritation.

Do not use bedding made of cedar wood shavings since the chemicals in cedar causes severe irritations in mice.

Do not use any bedding that is scented since this can also cause irritation.

Never use corncob bedding since it can become moldy if it gets wet. It also swells if the mouse eats it.

When buying an exercise wheel, be sure there are no “rungs” since the mouse can get his feet caught in the holes. Also, be sure that it has a solid outside since the mouse could harm itself if it tries to stick its head out while running.

Some Important Things to Take Care for Your Pets Health and Safety

Taking care of a pet is quite easy as well as should be well taken care. Pet care is in fact a simple job, and includes the very important functions of grooming and striving to maintain good pet health care. General pet supplies could be considered a definition of useful tools for grooming and keeping your pet in good health.

Let us consider some useful terms which should be taken care for the well being of your pet:

Choosing A Pet:

The process of choosing a pet is very important. Choosing a pet depends on one’s preferences, but there are still some important things that should be kept in mind. One should always choose an animal of good breed. Secondly, the pet should be healthy especially if it is still in the initial stage of its life. A healthy young pet shows good fast growth.

Pet Supplies:

You should make a complete list of pet supplies and include the following: pet food and food bowls, pet id tags and collar, pet medications, supplements and tonics, etc. Some other items to consider are animal carriers, pet houses and furniture, pet beds, clothes, and pet jewelry.

Online Pet Supplies:

Online pet supplies are supplies that can be purchased from pet stores over the Internet. There are numerous pet grooming product manufacturers and pet-grooming stores selling their products online through their individual official websites.

Pet Grooming Supplies:

Pet grooming supplies include items such as grooming clippers, pet hair care products, soaps, shampoo and perfumes.

Pet Health:

Pet health is a very important responsibility of pet ownership. For puppies and kittens, or any other four-legged pets, important treatments would include giving a hygiene bath, cleaning, combing, brushing, checking ears, paws, teeth and underside of the tongue, nail trimming, removing fleas and insects, and fixing regular meetings with a professional veterinary. A good pet owner should follow a regular schedule of grooming sessions.

Pet Care:

Pet care can require a lot of patience. Like children, pets often require special attention. A puppy, kitten or any other pet in its infancy needs to be handled with extreme care. In particular they must be groomed properly, fed carefully, and bedded properly.

Pet Insurance :

When you are treating your pet as your family member why not covering your pet with an insurance policy. Yes! That’s absolutely possible and you will find many insurance companies providing policies for your beloved pet. Pet insurance is now a days very common and used largely by many pet lovers. Though how much you take care of you pet but you never know when an emergency situation arrives.

There is a very famous saying from George Eliot “Pets are such agreeable friends, they ask no questions and they pass no criticisms” about pet animals. Pets have always been friendly to humans and often show their love and affection by licking, hickeys, even love-bites.

Dog Day Care Service Ny

Bringing home a furry friend is a big challenge.  It requires careful research of different breeds to find a perfect fit for you and your family.  Choosing a pet and bringing home the bundle of joy is only the beginning. Your new family member will require you to make many decisions on what products and services you will use.  Here are a few of the services you may require:

1. Dog Daycare NY: One of the biggest challenges for working professionals who own a pet is balancing the demands of their careers with the love they have for their pets. Doggy Day care popularity has grown do to the fact that loving pet owners want to make sure that their “animal child” keeps busy and is happy and well taken care during the work day.  Most of these doggie day cares have play areas both indoors and outdoors and pets come home happy and exercised at the end of the work day!

2. Dog Training: Gone are the days of training your dog to simply sit, stay or roll over at your command.  Pet parents these days are actually learning to understand their pet behavior. The proof of this is popularity of shows like “The Dog Whisperer” where pet owners are clamoring to understand what certain pet behaviors mean. Modern pet owners are looking for dog trainers that have an understanding of the animal beyond the typical “fetch” command.
