Why Would Somebody Wish to Get Cat Tattoos?

Article by April Castro

Tattoos have become a common art form nowadays. Lots of folks are doing it out of beauty while many are simply for the fun of it. What was once a differentiating mark for criminals and barbarians in the olden days now became an icon of enthusiasm and or emotion for many people.

Cats or parts of it are probably one of the most sought after tattoo designs by both women and men. Many people wish to have a picture of an entire cat tattooed on their skin, while some want to use a specific part, like a tail, paw, whiskers or simply the stripes. While the meaning and reason why this kind of design was selected will vary, here are several of the possible reasons why a certain design is selected.

Cats have 2 unique historical importance’s. In the ancient times, especially for the Egyptians, cats are considered gods, guardians and are a symbol of wealth as they’re mostly incorporated on ancient hieroglyphics and writings on the walls, vases and other significant ornaments on those times. In Medieval periods however, cats are linked to witchcraft, magic and misfortune. The young generation though, regards cats as feline friends that are cuddly and sweet.

These differences put people who wish to have cats as tattoos in a problem and wonder how people would react after viewing the design. This is particularly true since each person has their own interpretation about cats in general. Nevertheless, people who are cat lovers or those that simply like the look of a cat on their skin still have the power to decide.

Many people desire to have the entire animal drawn on their skin. If you are a lady who wants to have a tattoo but still wishes it to look sweet, you may have a curled up cute little house cat tattoo. A black panther making a walking or striking stance on a woman will really look attractive and gives the idea of being sultry and warm. A ferocious feline on a man’s arm or back will give a sense of ferocity and anger.

For some other individuals, paws and whiskers and also tails may work perfectly if put on great locations anywhere in the body. A smooth cattail drawn from tailbone entirely up to the spine gives the effect of a cat living within your body. A paw, irrespective of size, will always appear to be a cat simply gave you a pat or a standing hug.

Whatever a person’s drive and inspiration for choosing to have a photo of a cat tattooed on his/her skin, it is always important to remember that although tattoos may now aesthetically and surgically removed, your skin and appearance will never be the exact same once you got a tattoo.

My advice is wait to get a second dog until you have a home with a yard.

One dog in an apartment is enough.

Question by RockandRoll: What would make for a clever gift for a 24 year old conservative Chinese Girl who likes classical music?
I am looking for something original that would make for an original and meaningful gift. I am not certain what she likes but I know she is from a town called Dalian and likes classical music and finds Hello Kitty funny. She is a Chemical Engineering Major. I was thinking of throwing her a party but she mentioned Chinese culture does not really encourage doing that to celebrate success on a major exam. I am looking in the 20-50$ Range. Any thoughts?

Question by senzenauer: What would happen if I let my dog eat kitty food?
What would happen if I let my little dog eat any of my canned kitty food? I am presently giving her about a tablespoon of canned dog food per day on her dry food and it gets old within a week. Could she do ok with the spoonful of kitty food?

I wouldn’t. It’s made for cats, not dogs, and their food and calorie requirements are different. My neighbor’s puppy tries to eat their cat’s food, so they keep the cat food away from him.

Question by mreshouse09: What type of pet would you recommend for my circumstances?
I live in an apartment in a college town where most pets that can’t be kept in a terrarium, aquarium or cage are not allowed. With these restrictions in mind what good pets would you recommend?

(If the pet doesn’t make a lot of mess and doesn’t smell I might consider keeping it even if it breaks the lease agreement.)

What kind of dogs would make a good indoor pet; with children and cats?

Question by bengali: What kind of dogs would make a good indoor pet; with children and cats?
We have young children, and quite a few cats (We’re a bengal cat breeder). We want a dog that can thrive with the chaos that can often be associated with life with a family. The dog would be fixed. We don’t particularly have a ton of spare time, so we don’t want a long haired dog, besides the fact I’m somewhat allergic. We don’t mind a small dog, but we DON’T want a yipper. Both my husband and I will be working, but it won’t ever be alone, it’ll always have the cats here, and two of them absolutely adore dogs, if anything, they’ll sleep with it and follow it around, play with it. Large, or small, it doesn’t really matter; but it needs to be somewhat easily trained, especially if a larger dog; we don’t have problem putting the time into it that it need to train, but it’s going to grow up with young kids, and we need it to pick up new commands with some work. It’ll be taken for walks, up to 45 mins a day, but would most likely not have a yard to run in. What dog would suit our needs?
I’ll repeat, we don’t want a yipper. Or a long haired dog. Otherwise, we’ll all for any ideas.

I would suggest a shitzu or a mix between a shitzu and a poodle. The training part is one part I’m not really sure though.
